September/October Author Spotlight
Suzanne L. Wenzel, PhD is a Senior Behavioral Scientist at the RAND Corporation and a community psychologist (The University of Texas at Austin, 1990). Dr. Wenzel has conducted research with vulnerable and at-risk populations, including homeless women, for over 15 years. Currently, she is leading three studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (National Institute on Drug Abuse) on Drug Abuse, Violence, and HIV/AIDS in Sheltered and Low-Income Housed Women, Prevention for Impoverished Young Women in Shelters, and Quality of Care in the Therapeutic Community.
Dr. Wenzel most recently published in the September/October issue of Women's Health Issues. Her article, "Physical Violence Against Impoverished Women: A Longitudinal Analysis of Risk and Protective Factors" was co-authored by Joan S. Tucker, PhD; Marc N. Elliot, PhD; Grant N. Marshall, PhD; and Stephanie L. Williamson.
